I will help grow local jobs and make sure our businesses can survive and flourish by:

• expanding Denver's Neighborhood Marketplace Initiative Program and other investment to grow the Tennyson Street small business district, bringing the program to additional corridors such as Federal Boulevard, West 38^th and Colfax Avenues
• Working with Denver to attract funds to Denver's Small Business Revolving Loan and Neighborhood Business Revitalization Fund programs instead of having to rely on shrinking Federal dollars
• Getting back on track with neighborhood planning around the light rail on 14^th and Federal
• Changing Denver’s contracting and purchasing policies to include a local hire preference for Denver businesses and workers
• Expanding community wellness and health efforts, by promoting walkable communities and increasing the availability of local healthy foods and education
• Making it easier for small businesses to access available services from the Denver Office of Economic Development and other community resources
• Strengthening Denver and community dialogue with Saint Anthony's in the West Colfax corridor to prepare for hospital site transition and redevelopment that will serve our community.
